Only two (and a half, I guess) more workdays 'til the weekend! Which means only a couple more days of 9 to 5-ing before a sun-filled (hopefully!) reprieve. In the meantime, take a deep breath and try this.
Slow Neck Roll:
"For relief from tension in the neck."
A slow neck roll not only stretches the muscles of your jaw, throat and neck, but it also can release tension from your shoulders and, done regularly, can dislodge and/or prevent recurring pain in those areas. Follow these steps:
- Stand or sit with your spine straight but at ease (as much as possible - like, don't stress).
- While inhaling, gently roll your head to one side until your chin touches your shoulder. Look toward that side.
- While exhaling, slowly roll your head downward until your chin is resting on your chest. Remember to keep your spine erect and your shoulders squared. Hold for a few seconds, until you're ready to move on.
- While inhaling, gently lift your head back up until your chin touches the other shoulder. Look toward that side.
Go slow! Repeat 5 to 10 times... And have a great Wednesday afternoon!
